There was a loud creak and a snap. "Grrr-- agh! Stupid-- rope!" grumbled the gorgeous bay Stallion, yanking his slender, yet well-built body forth and bucking the tree he was bound to with her iron-shod hooves. The gnarled tree nearly fell, but the rope's strength remained undismayed still. The rope was chafing his skin. Dusty peered around a tree, "Do you need help?" she asked the handsome Stallion, her eyes concerned. "Oh," he sputtered, not expecting to see another horse, "...Yeah. If you could loosen the rope on the tree that'd be great." he said, and his eyes couldn't help but wander and gaze in awe at her beauty. Not noticing that he was swooning over her, she stepped over to the tree. She took one section of the knot and pulled with her teeth, moving to another, then grasping the two ends of the knot and pulling it apart. The rope fell limply to the ground, and the Stallion was freed. "Thank you," he said, smilng. "Say, are there other horses around here?" he asked. She nodded, "I come from Skyherd," she said, "Where are you from?" His expression brightened. "Ah, I came from Mountainherd originally, but a human found me and tied me to a tree while he left to get his-" He was cut off when he saw something large and shining muddling through the field, leaving long marks behind it. It was a large pick-up truck with a horse trailer attached. "Run!" he shouted, and Dusty briefly froze with fear before she rocketed off, falling into stride behind the swift stallion.
The old man stepped out of his vehicle and walked with a slight limp in his gait to the forest, then sighed heavily when he found the rope lying on the ground. He began searching the forest briefly but scratched his head in bemusement before turning back to his truck.
The Stallion's mighty hooves struck the ground in a thunderous roar, Dusty plodding behind. He slowed to a halt and so did she, skidding into the Clover patch. "That was close," she said with a pant, he nodded in agreement. "Thank you for helping me with that rope." he smiled, "What's your name, anyway?" "Dusty," she replied. "Evander," he answered. They chatted briefly before Dusty decided to lead him to Skyherd.
