"I--I--" Remus mouthed silently, ears back and eyes wide as he tilted his neck upwards to see the stallion's face. "I--" he squeaked, but then cleared his throat and continued, more strongly: "My name is Remus. I arrived here yesterday, and was wondering if I might stay here a while." Although trying to show himself as a confident stallion, Remus was also attempting to shrink into the background, becoming an insignificant speck that wasn't worth worrying about.
Columbia choked back a laugh, feeling bad for the seemingly pitiful stallion. "Yeah, you can stay. As long as you don't take any of my mares; I don't want to see any of your babies littered around the herd," he mused, though serious about taking any mares.
"Th--thank you!" At last Remus stood up fully, and lowered his head respectfully. "I won't cause trouble." As if he could, Remus thought ruefully. "Good evening, Columbia." With that he turned and trotted towards the water hole, dust clouds billowing out behind his large hooves.
"Thanks for standing by," he muttered quietly to Sprite as he passed her, flashing a quick smile.
