Twlight, grasping her chance, trotted up to Flip. "Hello Flip, What was up with you and FireShadow, I thought you didn't except Stallions?"

Flip looked uneasy. "Well..." he started, pawing the ground and chewing a mouthful of daisies. "I know you like Jet. But he's a rebellious stallion and would take over my herd if he discovered I was weak enough to let him have a mare. Besides, he's huge. His genes would be everywhere and mine would be crowded out. But Fireshadow... Fireshadow's shy and polite. He said he'd fight for me, which is the main thing I require from stallions. Also, Jet would take all the mares he wanted - my rules are that a stallion may take a mare for a single day, away to the hills alone, you know." Flip blushed and looked in Twilight's eyes to see if she understood.

Twilight bit her lip. "Yes, I know. But what if I were to talk to Jet, maybe he would understand! Please Flip, just give him a chance, if he doesn't agree, then, we can let him go." Twilight said the last few words with hesitation, "But if he agrees, then could you, maybe, accept him?"

Closing his eyes, Flip looked away. "Yes," he said. "If that colt would come to me on his knees and beg for forgiveness, if he would solemnly promise never to act that way to me again, if he would obey my rules and fight for me, if he would carry out my every word like an adoring foal, then yes. Yes, he could stay."

Twilight stared at Flip then turned away. Jet probably would never do that, but she may at least suggest it.. "I'll try to talk to him, but please, just, think about it.." Then twilight went away from Flip and sat mournfully under a tree.

"I'm Viola - like, some relation to Ivy, I think. She's pretty dumb. I know you - you're totally Twilight." Viola spat a fly out of her mouth and licked her haunch.

"Ah, yes, I do believe I've heard about you." Twilight got back up. "If you will please exscuse me, but, I need to go." Then twilight trotted off towrds the woods.

Silver lay, under the shade of the few trees dotting the meadow, her legs laying beside her and her long, black-streaked white mane swirled around her. She closed her eyes anjoyed the breeze that shifted through the grasses and flowed across her body.
