The mare blinked. "What kind of a name is that?" Her eyes flashed in fear at the sight of the gelding turning back, and she went back to pawing fervently at the rock.

Grace closed her eyes, too tired to reply. Her body lay still on the rocks and her breathing slowed as she fought for air in the choking dust
