Moist pine shavings

LOL...dirt floor? Oops. I have ridge venting and three-two inch vents. Seems to be enough, but I am getting moisture.

We use diatomaceous earth (food grade). It was recommended to me here on the forum. I just sprinkle a half a cup or so over my 2x4 coop and it works wonders. Literally five minutes later and shavings that were moist are completely dried out. Really glad I got it...

My little coop is 3x3 with a vinyl floor and sits up on bricks and I use 1/2 to 3/4 cup of stall dry and about 2 to 3 inches of pine shavings. I rake it around once a week and then change it out monthly and no problems with moisture. I also bought one of the little Lowe's playhouse coops but won't get it put up until spring. I am planning to use the same method for that one.
