My chickens have abandoned their coop. There was a predator incident that I thought could have been causing it, however, upon close inspection of the coop, the shavings (NEW! within a week/no chickens in the coop) have black spots all over them on the floor. Wondering if it could be mold or mite poop and that is why they are not in the coop. I've seen no signs of mites (I've looked at night, and no chickens show signs), and it has been rainy/cool, but no different than any spring weather. I've never seen this before. Wondered if anyone else has any thoughts? Thank you!
(I plan on deep cleaning it tomorrow....)
