Moldy feed, can it be made safe by long exposure to the sun?

Actually, we had the bags of feed up on a table away from the wall. A months worth of feed is about eights bags, for us. We get four bags of dog food like every 4-6 weeks (We have six dogs), we keep that in the basement also and it has never gone moldy, but it's in plastic bags. That would help it keep better, wouldn't it?

I think we will start putting the feed in containers right away when we get it now, or go more often to the store. My dad's also going to fix the dampness problem in the basement.

Thanks again guys and I'll make sure we get some new, fresh, feed for our birds. I wouldn't want to lose any of them.
