Molting already???

I have 3 Bronze turkeys 2 hens and a tom. I noticed that one hen was losing a lot of feathers and now the other 2 are dropping feathers. I know it's been super hot here but I wouldn't think they would shed there feathers already.

Have you checked them for lice or mites? I do believe that they can cause feather loss.

BTW...how old are they?

Mine breeders have all molted and there new feathers are brite and shinny.

Yes, how old? They go through 5-6 partial molts before adult feathers come in at 1yr.

All our adults are `semi-exploding' at present (feathers here, there, everywhere).

Yes, there are feathers everywhere..... lol. Of course they are mixed with duck feathers so you can imagine what my yard looks like.
