Hey friends! I posted the other day about my molting 1.5 year old Easter Egger Dandelion. She is definitely molting.. I’ve seen the feathers and probably in regrow that stage. She is not herself at all.. lethargic.. ruffled feathers.. not eating but drinks water. She will eat some scratch and water melon and eggs..but a tiny amount. I’ve noticed her poops have been nearly all water a bit of grass from free ranging and then today a dark reddish poop. (I think it was hers) I’m about 85% sure. It was a solid dark red and here is a pic. Sorry I went through it with a stick after taking the photo. I’m now worried she has cocci and not molting? Or both? I’ve seen the feathers so I know she is molting I guess… do I treat her and others with Corid? I don’t want to make her worse if she is simply molting… ?? She just seems so sick. Doing a lot of preening too..also I have seen this similar dark poop every once in a great while in my coop/run…never had any sick girls? Should I treat them all for cocci or just this hen OR could it be normal and continue with diagnosis of molting? Unfortunately the symptoms for molting and cocci are nearly exactly the same! 🤷🏼‍♀️
