Molting ducks

Since this is my first full year with ducks, I must say they have been a joy.

Since the ducks are molting, my drake has lost all interest in the hens, He is also hard to tell apart from the hens. I assume this is normal, and he will regain his color and begin breeding next spring or should I look for another drake? Also, the hens has stopped laying in the last couple of weeks, once again I assume this is normal?

That is normal, you don't need to get a new drake

My ducks don't lay when they are molting. It takes a lot of energy to molt, as does egg production. I assume their bodies can't manage both at once.
