Molting? Holy chicken....show me your molting chickens *PICS*

Poor Belle...this is my very first chicken molt, she has stopped laying, is not her gregarious self, spends time by herself...hope she pulls through soon. Am looking forward to seeing her beautiful new feathers.
This what she did look like...she is a dominique.

Now she looks like this...

So here is Belle today almost back to normal...

and now my Bacon is molting...poor girl...she is my green/blue egg layer

Is that really it? So much hype about molting and I really don't see how it's awful or anything. My Japs were in molt when I bought them, month later, their tail feathers are long again, but nothing much else different.

That is not all there is to it, trust me. Those are not in a terrible molt. It can be really awful. Their bodies are depleted and any health issue they have is magnified because of it.

its always a good idea to bulk up their protien, it is a hard time for them, in pet birds they sell vitamin and minerals for when they molt, not sure how that would work with chickens-
