Molting in 20o temps? Americana getting naked...

I’ve seen posts about americanas molting but no tips about how to keep them healthy. Is this normal in December in CT? House is unheated. If I add heat now do I prolong the molt or keeping her warm. No ones laying eggs now. It’s only 1 girl molting. She’s getting Downey new feathers and everyone appears healthy. Crazy making.

adding heat is a bad idea as they get so use to it when power goes out they die from shock she will be fine as in ny my are naked and are fine just up her protien

Photos? Unless the molt is extreme (naked bird) I wouldn't worry about it. I had hens with completely bare butts wandering around between snow piles last year, no issues.

I agree, one of mine is half bald right now, poor girl, and she's doing fine.
I have a light in the coop from 4am to 8am every day, so we are getting some eggs, but not a lot. Winter!
