I have 3 Rhode Island Reds. One is molting, and the other 2 started to attack her. Once I saw blood, I knew I had to separate her and the only place I have is a dog crate. Poor thing, she is outside on the porch during the day and in the house at night to keep warm. Once her feathers grow back, can I put her back in with the others? What's the best way at night or during the day?

x2 the above advice. If they can see her they won't view her as an intruder when she's over her molt. She'll still be part of the group. Give her some extra protein with her regular food now. It won't speed up the molt, but it will help her. A little dry cat food, meat scraps and/or scrambled eggs will do.

If the other hens get too rough when you put her back, you might try isolating the most dominant bird so she only has one other to deal with for a while.
