The other day my chickens started losing feathers on the front is them it is all the same place! My question is: Are they molting? If not what is it? And is there anything I should do?

I was just going to start a new post cause I was not sure it was a molt. I thought they started with the wing feathers and I expected a lot more feather loss but Penny is only losing them on her head and neck. She looks terrible, and she has not layed in several weeks!

I have one who is starting to molt again. She is 2 years old and had a light molt in the fall. She's also stopped laying. [IMG]

Quote:Aww Thanks! She is my favorite and everything always seems to happen to her. She broke her beak about 6 months ago, then she got the fowl pox and gave it to everyone else....now she looks like someone took a cheese grater to her head! I been calling her Baldy McBald....
