Molting or pecking

That's a neat idea and if you have the time and energy for weekly cleaning, more power to you. I will fully admit that I prefer low maintenance for my coop (and I'm kinda lazy), but I do have the luxury of allowing free range, which cuts down on the required cleaning. I was looking for something that might extend the life of the plywood I have on the bottom of my coop. There was supposed to be a fiber/plexiglass piece, but it wasn't cut right. The shavings do a pretty good job of keeping the floor dry, but maybe a layer of feed sack may prevent as much moisture? Then I can replace as needed, heaven knows I have enough feed sacks.

I used outdoor shelving then sprayed anti mold and protection spray then put the feed bags on I can change them out if needed. I only have my babies since March so I’m a little protective of them. Plus they make great companions and they love my dog. We spend a lot of time with them

I will have to consider that, when the flooring requires replacement. Hopefully by then, I will have the ability to cut the fiber/plexiglass correctly. That's fair, I've had mine for a bit and only have one of my original three left, but I was definitely helicopter mom for the first year. I'm not great at socializing my flock, but my silkie is always up for a short cuddle. Otherwise, they swarm me for treats and food but usually disperse on their own after a bit.

Oh they all cuddle and my lavender’s will always have around my feet. They all wait for loving. While in my lap I check their eyes vent under wings and legs and feet. I think they love the attention. I’m home all day because I’m disabled so they are better than my kids. At least I see them lol
