My Rhode Islad Red has lost feathers on both side of neck. Has pin feathers but has been that way for months. Seems kind of red now.

Hi and welcome to BYC - glad that you have joined us. I'm not sure what the issue is, but I would not imagine that, from the location of the feather loss that its due to pecking. I'd suggest maybe posting your question on the "emergencies, diseases, injuries and cures" section - maybe you will get some help there.

In the meantime, the Learning Centre is a great resource, even for experienced chicken keepers - loads of info on anything chicken. https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center

Joining your state thread will put you in contact with other BYC members in your area, which can be very helpful.

The members here are amazing - very friendly and helpful, so if you need an answer to a question or simply want some reassurance that what you are doing is ok, then post away - we all help each other out here at BYC.

All the best

x2 it doesn't look like molting. Have you checked her over closely for mites?
