molting question

Is it normal for there to be flakey white stuff, kind of like dry skin flakes, when chickens are getting there feathers back after a molt? It does not look like lice or mites at all, just flaky. Also, how long after they stop molting and start getting their feathers back do they start laying? Maybe I should ask this in a different forum. If so, please let me know.

Yes, my one hen is doing that right now. She has no lice or mites either. It's normal.

Thanks for your quick response! I figured with all those feathers popping out there might be some sort of skin stuff floating around.

Yup, it's the shedded feather shaft stuff.
