One of my silkies is molting a lot. She has lost so many feathers that it looks like a couple of chickens have exploded in the run and coop and you can definitely feel her pin feathers when you pet her. I wasn't expecting her to lay again until after her new feathers have grown in but today I saw her go up into the nest box and when she didn't come back down after a couple of hours, I went to check on her and she had an egg! Only one of our hens is currently laying (the others are molting and 1 just recently stopped being broody) and I had already taken her egg this morning, no other chicken had gone up to the nest box after I took the first egg except for her so it has to be her egg.
Is this something to be concerned about? Is there any health risks to a molting hen laying eggs?

Usually molting chickens don't lay....
Are you sure it's molting?
Positive! She's almost half the size she was before molting because most of the fluff is gone and you can feel the pin feathers when you pet her. All of the molted feathers are white and so is she. She is pretty much 1 year old on the nose now if that makes a difference
