Molting...what do u do with the feathers?

if we get around to gathering them up, we use em for either art projects or making flies for fishing, but we don't worry about to much, yard is raked 1-2 times a week and theres always some that go in the compost pile. I am scared though of winter we are going to go, the hens were picking them up and padding the floor with them lol
