Molting?

I'm new to owning chickens. I've had her for 2 months and she still looks like this. I asked her previous owner what was wrong with her and he said, "Oh she's molting. Is this normal? The other hens have lost feathers, but not like this.

Yes, it's normal; some do a harder molt than others.

This is a really good article on molting that you might enjoy reading. I'm not all that familiar with posting links so you might have to follow those links. Yes, they molt yearly and require extra protein to grow new feathers.
