Molting

I’m in MA and first time raising my babies. They are still molting. No extra feathers I run or coop. I’m checking for mites and everything. I switched to higher protein food. They get corn scratch and different herbs oyster shells. They are still producing eggs. But 2 out of 13 have bald spots they are all eating and acting normal

Looks like another chicken is plucking those feathers out of stress or combativeness

I’m with them most of the day. It’s my safe space and the reds are the most aggressive. I haven’t seen any picking since I started sitting in the run

Most will do it at night on the roosts, especially because it's harder to avoid being pecked at or defend yourself on a roost.

Thank you so much. I do have some meds that don’t taste good. I’ll put some on. No pecking spray
