As if bumblefoot and an abscess isn't enough, now my duck is losing feathers. Could it be molting? I have been letting her swim in the tub at least two times a day sometimes three. I have been using warm water to help with the foot and the abscess - which both seem to be improving - she is walking around quite a bit now and the swelling has gone down a lot too. I am sure with the weather warming up a bit that the garage where her pen is - is much warmer. There are feathers all over her pen, and also in her swim water. I can see a little pink skin through her feathers on her neck. I guess if she is molting you just have to let her molt. But do you think it could be another health issue - if so does anyone have any experience in this matter - is there anything I can do? Does this happen sometime when they are alone - I hope she isn't getting to lonesome. She is in the same room with the other ducks, but in a different pen. Thanks.

It could just be a little stress from all she has been going through- The opperation and her body trying to heal. If you can see some new feathers starting to grow as well it would most likely be a normal molting she is experiencing.

One of mine is moulting right now too. My questions is he is sleeping alot more and not swimming as much. Is this normal?
