Molting...

Is it normal for a hen to lose weight after she has lost her feathers for her one year molt? She was fine before the molt, but afterwards... She is looking scrawny...

Is she really loosing weight or just looking like it? I thought they would look skinny after because of less feathers.

I could be totally wrong though.

She has definitely lost weight and feathers... She wasn't necessarily fluffy to begin with, so she looks bad...

I was thinking the same with my girls. I think it's a combination of no underfeathers for fluff plus needing the protein to grow the feathers. They eat all the time and it doesn't seem to be doing much for them right now.
