Molting

My Lucy is molting and my husband put a doghouse in her and Pigpen's "bedroom". She went in the doghouse and hasn't come out lol Surely she's not broody? Maybe just cold? Any suggestions?

She should be fine, but you should check on her. If she looks really droopy and if her feces have blood in them, she could have coccidiosis. (pronounced cox-iddi-oses) We have had chickens camp in their house for a while and be fine. If your area gets really cold at night, you may want to bring her into your house or a warmer area at night when she is at the climax of her molt. She could be broody, so take her out for food and water if she does not leave her house. I hope this helped.
