Sooo.... ive come to the conclusion that moms dont feed their pidgeons after hatching. they have lots of pidgeon food water, that i usually mix with vitamin drops. I say this because i have left mom to take care of their babies and after 3-4 days the babies die, in between those days u can tell they get weaker, i only had one successful bird grow up inside the cage but thats because mom and dad where rescues and had been in the wild for some time, how do i fix this or at this point i have to care for the babies myself?if so how do i do that?... i also bought worm meals for the babies so mom can feed them worms as a source of protein, but its been back ordered due to covid 19.

Pigeons DO NOT eat meal worms. Both mom and dad pigeon should be feeding the babies. If they are not doing so, and the babies are not thriving then something is going wrong in your loft. Without more info I can't even guess what that is. You should make sure you are feeding a proper diet - that does not include mealworms. Salmonella/paratyphoid is a common disease of pigeons which causes many babies to die ...

What are you feeding? If they parents aren't feeding them, they would die by day 2. so they are feeding them. I don't want to sound mean, it the problem is most likely on you. I had babies dying for awhile, and I think it was what I was feeding them. I added some chicken layer pellets to their diet, and that's when the babies began to thrive.

please do research on the pigeons you have. It helps a lot and you will enjoy them more. Feel free to ask ANY questions on here, that IS research!

do you have any pictures of your birds? We would LOVE to see them!
