Momma abandoned ship, need advice badly!

Could your hen have abandoned the nest because she knew about the rotten eggs? I thought they just rolled out the bad ones and kept on the same clutch.

I'm hoping that another more experienced person can answer.

The first eggs I hatched or tried to anyway, I turned the humidity up because I thought it was to cool and so I plugged up one of the smaller holes. It got up to in the 80s and the window had steam on it. I was freaking thinking I had it way to high then so I took out my plug. soon after that my chicks starting pipping and the chicks came fast. So maybe it was a coincidence but it's worth a try. Maybe a sudden spike in humidity would do it. Not saying you should do it but that's what I did. Good luck!

Thanks for the reply sssharon, unfortunately they did not make it - I'm not even sure if the two fertile eggs were alive when I put them in the bator. I will definitely keep that in mind for the future. Thanks!
