I don't think they are particularly mean at all.
They are more flighty than say a buff Orpington or other big "bred to be docile" breeds.

They are said to make excellent mothers so I would say she is more feral and actually needed to be able to get away from the kids she was done raising.

I think she is lovely and just requires more room.

Well, she has the whole neighborhood now! Wonder if she will come back to lay eggs? Bunch of roosters around here. Thank you for your help.
