Momma did WHAT??????

ya know, it's comb has not gotten any bigger or redder, but Victoria/Victors tail has grown and grown straight upwards. Feet and legs are still the same size as Elizabeths too. who knows. I am going to keep the both of them no matter what. I have decided that. I will make it work. he/she is 1 in a million, so is Elizabeth. They are just dolls. SOOOOO funny with such character.

On the flip side, the 2 BLW, are being questioned on the thread if one is a male now. urggg... I hope not because that one I will not be able to keep. oh I hope not. They are saying Leah is a boy. But, her legs are still smaller than Eleanors, he comb is a little redder and her wattles are a little bigger, but Eleanor's are catching up. I dunno, I never questioned Meyers before, they have always been 100% for me.

Here's Leah

and here's Eleanor

:/ Hm, I wasn't paying much attention to my Wyandottes' combs as they grew. With the silver- and gold-laced birds, you can usually tell by how they feather in, though I don't know if the same goes for the BLR varieties. Males feather in with black necks (blue in the case of BLR) and patchy white/gold shoulders (red in the case of BLR). Someone correct me if I'm wrong. :hide

If this makes you feel better, I had 5 Silver Laced Wyandotte pullets, and their combs turned red before the other breeds. I am looking through my pictures and I can only find one shot, and it isn't great. If I can find my older photos, I'll email them to you .

I think they are both girls. really I am. If they are not, I will just bring them out to you 'hockey puck' and you can add them to your girls. LOLOLOL

Just enjoy them while they're chicks, and decide on whether or not they are male or female when their gender can easily be determined.

for right now it is!!! lol. They are 6 weeks old and still have the heat lamp when they want it. With 15 degrees outside at night, i just dont feel comfortable putting them out there even with a heat light. They have a HUGE box in my living room and they get 'free time' out when i get home and can sit with them for an hour or so. If I dont have that much time, i block off my hallway (linoleum floor) and they get the run of that for awhile.

Yup. That's what I said about Beth & Punkin, too. Both are now laying.... in the house... but they go outside during the day. Then they come back inside at night.

Of course, Sparkle is a TRUE House Silkie and I think I will never integrate her into the flock... I am worried about what to do with the 4 chicks she hatched, though. Hope you don't mind if I share the latest photo of her and the babies in her brooder bin.
