Momma I've fallen and I can't get up

My broody Sasha's eggs were hatching today. Note the legs sticking straight out on the right side of her. This was so funny.

Boy she was sure thirsty. It was so hot and muggy here today. Not long after this a baby still wet fell right out of the box. I was worried one was gonna fall in the water. Moved the water and put a piece of cardboard in the front so none could fall out tonight. Storms are coming tonight.

How kind of you to provide water to your hen while she's doing her motherly duties! I'm sure she really appreciated it.

It was really hot and humid here yesterday. Today NE wind and unseasonably cool for the end of July its only 77 at 11:45 am. It feels wonderful out there. I have counted at least 8 chicks this morning. These are Black sex link chicks. I got the eggs from okiehen and so far 4 boys and 4 girls. Sure takes all the guess work out of knowing what you got. Can't wait for her to stand up so I can really see how many there are.
