Mommy!!!

Then I would enjoy her and chicks. She'll let them be soon enough. Most people have problems with momma hen stopping too soon.

Ok now it is getting crazy!! One of the chicks has taken to sleeping on the floor!!!!!!

How sweet.... my buff mom just moved her and her baby up to the roost for nights now... baby is 4 weeks old and its so cute to see it up there on the roost...

I think your buff needs an award for most dedicated mother hen!

Enjoy them!

When she is ready to give them up, she'll start hogging the food and chasing them away from her.

How long had she been broody before you popped chicks under her? Perhaps it was really early in the broody phase??? (and she's making up for that time?)

Milly, our light sussex hen, hatched out three BO chicks last year. She had them sleep under her wings until they were ten weeks old - she had even started laying eggs again, and when she went to lay she made them sit beside her in the nest box and wait until she'd done

One day she just snapped out of it and started chasing the chicks around, quite clearly telling them they are old enough to look after themselves now, thankyou very much! I say just leave them all together and let them enjoy their time with mum, she'll get rid of 'em when she's ready!
