"Money Quilt"?

You don't know how many times I have seen your name and wondered if there was a connection, as Webb is my maiden name. I am sorry that your husband's real grandmother died so tragically. But I bet if your Webb's are like my family...it doesn't matter if we are really blood relatives or not. We still treat each other like we are. Now you will be able to tell if there is really a connection between our families if Gramma Margie has ever sewn things for family members and forgotten to take all the pins out of them before she gives them as gifts. (Pajama's when I was 12 years old, entire yoke had all the pins from gathering the fabric still in between the facing and the right side of the fabric). I kept complaining about get picked at night, and my mother thought I was nuts.

Most of my family is from Coastal Maine, one escaped to NH and one of his sons keep going and made it to Florida. The renegade would be called Scott.

It's so cool when you find distant relatives like this. Chickens must run in the family!

I think that's pretty neat, sewing in coins. If I ever get around to making a quilt (which I really would love to do one day), I just might do this.

My grandmother taught me to properly quilt by hand. It's one of my fondest memories as a child. The quilting frame was always hung with a quilt in it and as she would sit and quilt I would crawl under the frame and take a nap. She collected real silver dimes and everytime she made a quilt each square would have a silver dime hidden inside it. Some of those dimes could be worth a lot now but none of us are willing to dismantle any of our quilts. I have always thought she was the only person on the planet that did this until now. How cool is this!! YAY FOR GRANDMAS

My in-laws are from Georgia. Gramma Margie was originally a Wilkerson and yes, she has left pins in sewn clothes!
Gramma Margie is 86 years old and lives in Largo, Fl. She collects dolls and would/will never be caught dead without her red lipstick! (every night after she brushes her own teeth and washes her face) she applies her red stain lipstick-she said if she ever has an emergency or gets sick, she wants to look pretty and not plain!
Grampa past away many years ago.
Gramma Margie has a gentleman friend.
