I bought my girls (?), Ether, Bertha (Welsummers), Buffy & Rosie (Rhode Island Red) a week and a half ago as 3 day old chicks. The feed store said that their chicks had a 96% chance of being hens. At the time they were all, more or less, the same size.

At 12 days old, however, one of the chicks, Rosie, towers over the others. Not only is she taller, she has more feathers and just looks more like a chicken than the others. Could "she" actually be a "he"?

It is possible. But too early to tell.

Also, without pictures, we have no way of helping, truly.

Here you go ... Buffy

Buffy is the one at the very top of the picture

It's possible that your chicks aren't the same age. Feed stores get frequent shipments and it's possible that the larger baby arrived a couple of days earlier and thus was hatched a couple of days earlier.

I'm not seeing anything that shouts "rooster".
