Monstera plant disease

My monstera plant has these weird brown dots on it. Does anyone know what this is or how to get/prevent it?

Do they look like rust? It kind of does from the picture, but I'm not sure.

Regardless, I think I'd try the anti-fungal spray ideas they have in this article.
