Just joined the community and am excited for the vast potential of knowledge out there. I have always been a chicken enthusiast but never able to have my own flock until three years ago when we moved back to Montana and bought a home in the county. I raise bantams of all sorts but only hens so I don’t have to mess with all the stress that comes with roosters. I love my girls but discovered that one has mites when her eyes glued shut. Took to vet and are getting her taken care of and I literally just finished injecting all the others and laying down DE. Who knew. So happy to have joined.

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
The DE isn't going to rid the hens or their housing of mites. You'll need either 2 rounds of heavy cleaning and Permethrin spray or cleaning and treatment with Elector PSP.
