Hmmmm....no Tact or Supply or Shiptons in the area? You could always try hatching your own with fertile eggs.

we shop at the Shiptons Big R in Billings but they never have pullets for sale... only chicks, we got some of our Australorps from the Big R...then we had to order some from the mail order....

I would try craigslist in your area. Some purchase straight runs and then have more pullets then they want and will sell them at point of lay. I purchased chicks this year and raised them myself.

Yeah, they were fun! My first time raising chicks. I got some Australorps among other breeds. They are the sweetest. They love to take turns sitting on my lap and taking their naps while I pet them. I got an Orpington and a couple EE's who are very sweet also. My Wellsummer's, not so much, but they are supposed to be great layers. Enjoy!
