Anyone near Missoula? Can you tell me if you are allowed to have chickens in the city?

http://www.ci.missoula.mt.us/DocumentCenter/Home/View/1028#Chapter_6_07_Article_III_Part_10 Here is the city code for keeping fowl/livestock. I didn't read it but it should point you in the right direction. I wish my county's codes were as easy to find.

Strange weather today, but I guess for MT it's about normal. Raining, then snowing, then raining again, now its snowing and looks like that might stick arround for the day. I'm being lazy and taking it easy today, yesterday I worked all day putting up new fencing for the baby chicks. I have a bunch of 3 month olds that I put out in one of the breeding pens, but I had not gotten any fencing up for that pen last fall before the snow hit, so that was my project for this weekend. Glad I got it done yesterday when it was nice, but darn, the fencing is getting heavier every year, and I came up with some new very colorfull words every time the pannels fell over on top of me and I had to crawl out from under them and then try to lift them back up again. And then the chicks wouldn't even go out when I opened the pop door. It was rather funny, they all gathered arround the door with their heads sticking out, but no one would venture outside. I'll give them a few days, and if they still don't go out, I'll have to push their little butts out. Well, I hear the roosters crowing, so I guess i have to get moving and go check their feed, and pick up some eggs.

It is trying to be a dreary day here too. Rain and snow a little bit, but mostly just cool and overcast. We caught a skunk in the trap last night. That makes two so far this spring. So we are waiting for a while for it to calm down before we go dispose of it. I hope that once we get the fence up they will be a bit more deterred from our property (I know I am probably going to be disappointed, but I can hope right?)
Today is day 7 for my turkey eggs I am incubating. I am trying to hold out until day 10 to candle but I swear they are calling out to me!

Cold wet and dreary here to ! Snow ,stop snow stop lol, but we are getting closer girls to nice warm weather, it's coming it's coming ! I can not wait ! I'm so sick of the cold. Kids went to the YMCA, I made my self a nice big lunch of eggs potatoes and tortilla's and I'm ready for a snooze lol. YEsterday we got the coop and pen cleaned, had the contractors come and go over plans to do the coop and pen ( enlarging both) adding a pop door and so forth. I'm so excited. More room for my girls and it will have electricity switches and thermostats ready for next winter. Now I can turn some heat on if it's a real bad night, to be started with in the next 2 weeks ! A great man and wife team. Every time we try to get this project off the ground it snows lol, but it's going to have to go p now, my girls are coming soon from cackleberry, and my hatching eggs are on the 8 th day So not much time to get all my ducks in a row so to speak lol
Stay warm girls, soon it will be hot and watermellon time! :D

gearing up for more snow/rain today and tomorrow. then he will hit warm weather again !! 73 Sunday and Monday, so happy soooooo happy.Day 11 on my chicks, still trying to figure out how to have them, the pullets coming, and where to put them. I always take to much on, ugh. good thing we are getting the work done on my coop and pen with in the next 10 days, im going to need it done . i found a great huge wooden box with lift up lid.it has huge wooden handles on the side so Im going to drill holes under the handles for circulation, cut a door for the pop door, hinge it and I got my self a new coop . it will be in the pen which will have a roof on it, so it will stay dry. then going to add an igloo for the pullets until there ready to join the big girls. if all goes well I can get this all done by the end of summer and everyone happy and in the big coop by fall. Looking forward to getting the pen and coop done so I can order truck loads of sand.Things are coming into play now, I feel much better.
The rain will be a welcome sight,my lawn needs it badly.

We killed another skunk yesterday. That is two already this spring! Darn things. I declared war on them last summer/fall when they terrorized my chickens and killed my favorite bantam hen.

Glad I do not have to fight off those varmints. Round here its dogs or cats lol. Oh a hawk will come by at times, but my girls run under the hedge. Good for you getting that skunk.
Love the astrolorp and babies, adorable!
