Cute, MontanaChicks! Got 11 eggs out of the 12 girls today, we know they are all laying now because one of the EE's did not lay a green egg today but has laid 4 so far! Gave another dozen away today!

Thank you yeah I did not really know at the time of the flock I have going but I am in love with them. I have some questions though. 1) my husband and I are wanting ducks. I would like a male and female I am wondering i I can keep them all together? 2) My Lewis roo is a sweet roo but he has been doing his roosterly duties a lot lately. Well my lil girls came to me with moat of their feathers gone. I have been spraying them with Blu kote. My question is should I put the ones that have red skin in the same coop but run a a wire fence across it and at night let them back in with Roo? What would you all suggest?
Hi and welcome to this site !
To answer your question on the rooster... You need these to save them from feather loss and scratches. Also you can break, or trim / cut the spurs off.

Omg thank you for the pattern I am not a one to sew but maybe I can convince my grandma to sew them together. My question is how do I measure the hen so I can make my own?
Your more then welcome, did you know you can buy these also? I think someone on back yard chickens even makes these![]()
My husband has decided he wants 2 to 3 more EE's so anyone close to Billings, Huntley, orShepherd willing to part with any? I already have a dark brown/black onr and two Red/white ones. Plus can anyone tell me themeasurements on a coop and run per hen?[/quotte]
Quote: Can't help you with getting more chickens, but I checked with my dad -- he designed my coop & run. He said for 14 birds, your coop is plenty big & the run should be also. My run consists of about 1/4 of an acre, give or take, but it's all fenced in ..... they love to run run run. Do you have it winterized yet?
