Montana

I just had a thought...Are there any other Montanans here that are a part of the Montana Poultry Fanciers club? I'll be joining in January so I'd love to meet some of these ppl.

I am as prepared as I can be. I will need to get a couple things from the grocery store tomorrow, but I got the girls' feed in the cubby above their nesting boxes so I don't have to go digging in the tool box for a couple days (I use an old truck bed tool box to keep their bags of feed in. I also put down a fresh bed of straw for the big girls and sawdust for the babies.

They say 6-12 inches here.

I hope my collar bone feels better by then though (I hurt it hauling wood on Saturday). I like to shovel, and I will want to shovel Wed afternoon, Wednesday night, and Thursday afternoon.

I am probably going to join this year. Although it might have to wait until the middle of the month.

Hi ~
I dont have chickens yet (this spring is the plan, coop is ready and waiting). What would be the perks of being part of the MPFC besides showing??

Well, in my experience with the club you will be learning a lot about the care of your birds in all of our climate conditions and there's trading and selling of birds, plus you get to meet a lot of really great ppl.

I'm sure I've missed something else that's great about it but, if you join you'll find out first hand.

There isnt much info on their web site. It would be nice to know if there are a 'local' group. Sorry I'm not going to 'Billings' (aka insert any 2+ hours drive) for a meeting.
