Im still trying to figure out how to cover my run, to keep snow out and not have to go through 10 tarps a winter. I purchased one last night that I hope will work, its heavy duty and I plan to tarp the top, sides and put hay or stray in there run to keep feet dry. what one is safe for chickens ? I do not want them eating it and getting impacted crop .

Anyone going to the Great Falls Poultry Expo tomorrow? I can't make it, but a friend is taking my Araucana pullet up to show for me. Anyone else have birds entered?

Oh, i wish I could go to the poultry expo, but we have 30 ton of hay we have to deliver. It is so dry here, everything is just crunchy and looking to catch fire. Dry thunder storm going on tonight, there will be fires in the morning.

Please excuse me while I take a moment to brag... My bantam black Araucana took champion AOCCL at this year's Great Falls Montana expo. Totally stoked.

Congrats! He is a pretty boy.

Pretty busy here getting the calves shipped. My poor DH hauled one load came home and loaded the last load and headed back to Lewistown.
Got the butcher coming tomorrow for our eating steer. I can hardly wait we are out of beef.
Gotta run to Great Falls on Wednesday too.
Can hardly wait for things to slow down.

Sorry Karla no square bales, but big rounds.

RAIN finally!!!!!!
Had a couple thunder storms go past us last night and it finally rained here. Every time I looked at the radar it was virga.
Not much but at leasts its a start.

Rained here a few days, one day all day. It was nice but man it's cold. Tomorrow we will finish up on the coop covering it and winterizing stuff. I still have to get a heater for the water. Set up a heat lamp for the extreme cold and finish paint my porch. Ugh time is short. I'm going tp sell my coop I had made this summer, it's nice but I want bigger. I can not wait until spring!
