this little guy just started walking like this a couple days ago. I’m thinking one of the bigger Girls may have stepped on it. It puts it’s one leg out further to the front and doesn’t seem to have great balance with that is it’s lead leg. At times it seems to sit on his elbow instead of its foot.

I looked and no visible discoloration swelling heat or injuries.

What are you feeding? Is that scratch grains in the feeder? It could be anything from a vitamin or mineral deficiency, injury, or a leg bone deformity that is causing a tendon issue. Mareks disease also could be a slimmer possibility. Was the chicken vaccinated? What breed is it—naked neck or a mix of meat bird? I would start some chicken vitamins that include riboflavin, and if you are not feeding a balanced grower or layer feed, get some started right away.

@Eggcessive its flock raiser crumble in their feeder. As a flock they have flock raiser always available as well as fermented feed from the same feed.

It is a necked Neck mix from my own flock. It (nor any other of my birds) has not been vaccinated.

I gave it poly vi sol in its water when I separated a bit ago.

thank you for the link on mareks. I’ve done quite a bit of reading on it in the past but will take another look.

I’m thinking it was an injury because I would see it get stepped on by other birds while it ran under foot after mom. I’ll keep with the poly vi sol as well.
