Monthly Grocery Budget.

I really didn't want to take Honey to Costco. We spent $83.77 on food items. So, for the month I'm at $256.40.

I have to remember, though, with the menu planning I have everything we need for the week. Hopefully I can stay out of the store!

I would say getting out of Costco for under $100 is something to be congratulated for!

It's been challenging for me. I pass 3 krogers, Walmart superstore, Meijers, and several smaller stores everyday on my way to and from work. My car is trained to pull in one of those stores at least every other day:th. I am working on retraining my car.

As for the menu planing, I cook most every night, so menu and meal planning comes second nature for me.

YOURS, that's who's!!!

I think I am the left over queen. I cooked a cockrel a few days ago. First roasted one, and it was tender, served up with onions potatoes and carrots. Tonight, left overs were put in a creamy sauce, served over noodles. Some breast meat set aside for hubby's sandwich. Next serving: add a bag of mixed veggies to those left overs for a soup. Not bad: 3 meals to serve 3 people + 1 lunch from one not so big bird.

Dropping in to grocery stores last minute can be a tough one to break but once you get your car trained, you'll be gold!

I used to be real bad about not using leftovers but DH has me pretty well cured of that. I still don't like eating the same thing 3 meals straight but he's figured out if he changes things up a bit, I'm good. He does most of the cooking but I bake and make a lot of soups.

He made a huge lasagna the other night and we figured the cost to make it at about $15. That's not cheap but when you figure it feeds 2 people 5 meals, that makes it a deal!

Nfc you have a lasagna recipe and you didnt share it

DH made the lasagna not me, I just ate it. He hardly ever uses a recipe so I couldn't tell you how he did it. Sorry!

Lol its probably a good thing i am the only one beside a two year old who doesnt eat much that really likes it. Lol i eat half a pan by myself lol like i saidnif i had a recipe i would probably gain weight lol. I have limited self control when it comes to lasagna. Lol my husband weakness and chicken and rice. I hardly ever cook either to keep us from over eating lol. I am weirdly picky when it comes to lasagna i am not a fan of Italian sausage so yeah alot of recipes call for it. I am going to try and bake your crackers tomorrow minus the pepper and bake some bread. I am all kinds of excited about homemade crackers not some much the washing dishes part but i suffer through that. I need to get some serious hand lotion between that and the dry cold air while gardening they starting to crack at my knuckles so not pleasant. Oh and appartently my son has a sensitivity to pampers diapers we think so and possibly huggies as well so i am going to start using cloth diapers

its going to be a long week adjusting to that. I need to find some crock pot recipes that lucy will eat that kid can be a picky pain. Lately she hasnt wanted to eat spaghetti her favorite thing ever and a few other thing she liked lol however i got her to eat fried catfish which she use to refuse to eat lol. I night get lucky with the roast on sunday she might actually eat it.

@Jesusfreak101 I found this stuff last winter and it has worked the best for my sore, cracked winter hands:

Just a little bit goes a long ways and it isn't greasy. I've seen it for sale several places...feed store, grocery store pharmacies, TSC...it runs about $6 a jar and that will last a long time.

Thanks nfc i still havent made it to the grocrey store lol i be going tomorrow with the kids by myself. Had a trial run at toys/babies rus and petsmart yesterday so we go for the gold lol. However who ever made baby backpacks made a very confusing contraption.
