OMG I have to show this in pictures...words just do not do it justice.

So, the first one saddled was my sweet little Salmon Faverolle who had the over grown beak as a teenager.

Faith sat perfectly still while I put the saddle on her and then froze when I let go of her.

When she started to move she kinda freaked out and went to daddy for help...hopped up on his foot and froze again looking totally pathetic...and hoping daddy would fix it.

So, I scooped her up and took her out to the grass to let her take time to get used to it..she walked a few feet in it and then turned to tell me what she thought about it...it was not pretty.

Then she sort of ran sort of waddled sort of skipped over to DD for some sympathy and hopeful aid in removing the offending clothing...

She is down at the coop now and we played all heck for 30 minutes trying to wrangle someone else...they are having none of it...they saw her come back and us trying to get them and they all headed under the coop. So, I will get them tonight. Despite what she thinks...I think she looks smashing in her sunflowers.

Now did I put it on correctly? the straps cross down under her crop and breast bone, come up under the wing and snap. If this is not correct let me know and tell me what I am doing wrong. It looks right but what do you think? I could move the straps further down and closer to her legs possibly but her crop is certainly free.

Oh and thanks again...I probably end up buying more just to cover all 29 of my girls. That way no one is different.

hmmm I thought about that but was afraid it would rub the skin under the wing and Moodene said she made them to criss cross so I am trying that way....it is snug but I can easily get my finger under the straps in the front. I will have to try it different ways and see which works best....I am thinking of moving the straps further down.

I don't want to sound dumb here, but what's the point of the saddle? Is it just a way to make them adorable

, or does it function as something else?

HAHAHAHA

the looks on her face tells it all...I love it!! I criss cross mine right under the crop or breast area..Mine do not go around the wings at all..if the straps still feels loose..just tie 1 knot at a time to shorten the length of the straps..She is so cute with her sunflowers prints on.all she needs now ... is a cute straw hat to go with it...then she got it made!!

Some people have over affectionate roos and the hens lose all the feathers on their backs. The saddle allow the feathers to grow back and keep the bird from being sunburned.
