"Daddy!" She tugged on his ear. "Daddy wake up!"

“He’s already awake, you silly,” Star told her, flicking her ear.
(If she’s inly two days old, how can she already talk so fast and jump around?)

"Won't you take me out and show me the rest of the world?" Misty begged "Please???" She walked over to the doorway of the den. "All I ever see is this boring old cave"

Misty sighed. "Apprenticed" She playfully swatted at a passing beetle. "But that is sooooooo far away!"

"But waiting is so boring!" Misty said. "I want to be big, strong, and I want to lead the camp when I grow up!" Misty jumped up on a Little Rock ledge in the wall of the den. "But instead of leading the camp I am waiting to be apprenticed, letting all the other wolves hunt for me, and confined to the walls of the camp!" She rolled over and fell off the ledge.

“Come on.” She nudged Misty with her nose, helping her walk. “Get back to the nest and lay down. I’ll get the medic if it doesn’t get better.”
