"More Mealworms!!"

Found a few that s/he'd missed under the feed dish. Apparently, they weren't enough because once they were gone, much frantic digging around everywhere else happened. She even threw the empty tub a few times.

Also had a go at the cricket colony, because I have way too many and there is no way my one spider and one scorpion will eat even the majority of them before they die.

Oh yeah, most chickens love (make that LOVE) mealworms! That's the #1 Special Treat at our house, they don't get them very often so it's like a major party when they do. I really think they would consume an entire bag in one sitting if they could.

I can't honestly say I blame them; I LOVE toasted or freeze dried mealworms. Fried isn't too bad either.

I prefer mine with a little sriracha tossed in, though.

They taste kind of like toasted soybeans on their own.
Nice high protein, reasonably low fat (for humans anyway!), low carb snack!

Most times I'm lazy and just buy a big 1lb bag of freeze dried, then heat them back up or toss them in sriracha at room temperature, but sometimes I'll buy fresh (i.e. live ones), freeze them, then bake them.
