More new chicks from MPC

Just got my chicks today from MPC. Not only am I excited, my 2.5 y/o is too. He's so crazy about them he's set up a blanket and a towel to lay down next to them. He's only held one so far, and seems pretty happy with letting them be . And they seem pretty ok with having him lay next to them. I got 3 BO, 3 EE, and 3 SLW. I only ordered 8, but they added an extra. I also want to say how pleased I am with MPC. My chicks were supposed to arrive last week but due to the incubator malfunction they had to be delayed. Their customer service was excellent in contacting me and working everything out. And the chicks arrived in excellent condition, despite their long journey to central Washington and are now eating, drinking and pooping up a storm. Yea!

My chickees came today too from MPC - They substituted a Barred Rock for a Golden laced - I must say they really have awesome customere service - all the chicks look great and healthy.

I had to be away today but My hubby and kids stepped up to the plate and are doing well as serrogate Mommies!

Once you move your chicks to a larger box you may want to modify the feeder---they seem designed to waste feed. The chicks will quickly scratch out the feed to get lost in the litter. I've cut a plastic ring out of a butter bucket container sized so as to leave a 1/2" lip when setting the feeder down.
