More on Fermenting feed

I think I made too much fermented starter feed for my chicks. I didn't think it would go bad but after reading here I'm afraid I've wasted quite a bit. I have 5 chicks and made about 2 1/2 gallons of fermented feed. I see that I can refrigerate it, for how long? Should I cover it slightly? ~confused~
What do you think?

I've only done fermentation for human food..but the cold stops fermentation in it's tracks.

You can refrigerate it to slow it down quite a bit.

For 5 adult birds 2.5 gal wouldn't be TOO unreasonable to get through, but that is a lot for chicks.
