Around a week back I had a d’uccle rooster get sick and pass away that same night. He was fine that morning, but became lethargic later in the day. we gave him nutridrench and decided to treat him with corid, but we ended up losing him overnight.
This morning we went to let the chickens out and another rooster in the bantam flock was down on his side, lethargic and hardly able to open his eyes. I gave him nutridrench again and treated with corid. I went to check on the main flock after and found one of our favorite girls down. I thought she was dead, but we saw a little movement so we grabbed her and did the same treatment. everyone else in all other flocks seem well at the moment. All are being treated with corid to be safe, although the only real symptom is the lethargy…I’m not seeing any abnormal droppings or anything.
Each one has been acting the same…fine the day before, then suddenly lethargic and unable to stand.
this does remind me slightly of how our pet chicken, pumpkin, became ill. we did manage to save her with corid, antibiotics, calcium, and hourly feedings of pedialyte and cat food. But we took her to the vet for diagnostics and to get antibiotics, and I can’t afford another $700+ Vet bill.
Any ideas as to what I should try to do to help them? I do not have any leftover antibiotics from pumpkin. I do have amoxicillin and la200 though.

I should have gotten a necropsy done on our d’uccle that passed last week but didn’t…i will if we lose one of these guys, although I’m praying we won’t.

I don't have much advice except to note that nutridrench and corid should not be given simultaneously-corid treats coccidiosis by preventing thiamine absorption and nutridrench contains thiamine so it would be counterproductive.

I’ll hold off on the nutridrench now, it was just the first thing I gave them as I had it in the coop and wasn’t sure how long they were off of food and water.
thank you for the advice

Thank you for the link. unfortunately I am going to need that. both are not doing well at all. They are stiff and hardly breathing. I wish I could have done more for them, but there was no signs beforehand. Our hen (whose name was crazy legs) was in the middle of a molt, so she is wrapped in a jacket to keep her warm while she passes. I will be getting one or both tested.
