More than 1 Brooder and chicks in the same coop.

Hey John sorry, this is not a question answered with yes or no.

Some will, some will not. Some hens may try and steal other hens chicks and the chicks may be hurt in the rumble or, a hen may attack a chick if it wanders too close to her brood.

Personally, I would not take the risk of having a chick severely injured or worse.

However, it can also depend on how far apart they are. If it is a big coop and they have their own ‘corners’ they might be OK, but in a smaller coop, you may have problems.

If you are able to provide some pictures of your set up and where the broodies would be located, it would help with assessing the possible risks.

thank you for your help. the coop nesting area is 4 ft by 5 ft by 5 ft high.
That's about enough space for 3 grown birds.
I would break the broody hens, unless you plan on a larger coop for them all...
...and have a plan in place for the probable 50% males that would hatch before hatching chicks.
