Finally today I put a light in our coop on a timer. lt is set to come on at 5:00 AM, off at 7:00 AM on at 5:00 PM and off at 7:00 PM. The birds were really confused this evening. It was dark outside and light inside. They would go to the pop door, look out then return to the feeder.

I'm curious since they usually go to roost as daylight is dimming, what will they do when they are running around the coop and the light suddenly goes off. They will have to find the roosts in the dark.

They figure it out. My did the same when I added the light a few weeks ago. They would peek out looking very confused. They seem to like it now.
