Our four hens (and drake) are turning 3 in May, and have just recently started laying again after their winter break. We've been getting 4 a day for the past week, and I cleaned out the coop and gave them fresh hay last night... this morning I found 5 eggs! When I say cleaned out, I mean scraped down to the wood. No eggs!
Excluding our drake spontaneously starting to lay eggs what can cause an older female duck to lay a second egg in one day? If they were young I wouldn't ask much, since they DID lay multiple eggs a day back then (6 hens, often would get 7-8 eggs every day), but just curious.
No change of feed by the way.
